The fifth Knockturne Records release debuts the new trio from Seville – Malheur. This young band started in 2012 and it features Juan G. Acosta (guitar), Manuel Montenegro (drums) and Juan Miguel Martín (bass guitar). Through all the album many of their influences are revealed and released from their guts into this electric jazz and post-rock with some influences of Miles Davis, John Zorn, The Tony Williams Lifetime, Sonny Sharrock or Jeff Parker (Chicago Underground Trio, Tortoise) and even psychedelic music. Under these assumptions Malheur takes improvisation and musical experimentation as their foundation for compositions and indescribable live performances, taking us throw hypnotic improvised passages and into evocative places.
"Dulcia cum Amaris" is their first album. This album was recorded in one live session that defines good work and talent. The final result is an expressive, organic and natural sound, full of nuances, already expected in jazz music, empowered by a new contrast with an electric twist.
